Sets Teapots Vases Serving Bowls/Platters Pitchers Bowls Jars

I am a second-generation potter. Having the experience of being surrounded by handmade objects in our home had a tremendous influence on my work and the way I view art today. Handmade, one of a kind pottery and the process of making is at the root of my work. My work is driven through process and the ideas it generates. I feel that as an artist, production is the only way to work out ideas and thoughts.
I am inherently inspired by contemporary American pottery as well as the work of Japanese Oribe and Shino ware. The forming processes along with high temperature glaze, create subtle changes in the work motivate me. I find these subtle changes to be extremely intriguing and highlight the properties of truly being handmade. I strive for my pottery to show the presence of the hand. I want the viewer to pick up my pottery and have their fingers follow the paths I created while making the pots.
I believe that handmade objects really can make the world a better place. Artwork should not be found only in museums and galleries, but instead be able to be viewed and admired where we live and work. Pottery gives every person the opportunity to have beautiful things brought into the home and allow for a center point of interaction and conversation to develop. I hope for my pieces to fulfill these expectations.
